Returning again this year to celebrate the holiday season is Charis, a Westchester-based a cappella chamber ensemble, directed by Soprano, Susanne Peck. Ranging in size from 12 to 20 singers, this 20-plus member group draws in part on the 9-year tradition of the popular Westchester group, O.K. Chorale and Serious Fun. Charis will perform a selection of traditional Christmas Carols and other popular holiday songs. Readings of holiday stories from members of the Pawling community round out this holiday evening. Past year's story tellers included actors and Pawling residents, James Earl Jones and Cliff Carpenter. Proceeds from this event benefit the The Nature Conservancy's Friends of the Great Swamp Program. Based in Pawling, this program is a local effort to protect the Great Swamp, one of our State's largest wetlands.
